Zelda is the protagonist of Forgotten Flame, and the player-controlled character for most of the game.
The former princess of Hyrule, she now resides in the priory above Kakariko Village. Working as a traveling doctor in the Snowpeak region, Zelda leaps at the chance to see more of the world beyond her sheltered sanctuary... even if it means exposing herself to the dangers of a legacy she fears confronting.

Appearance
Zelda is a young woman with light brown skin, black hair, and red eyes. She wears a loose white cotton shirt with long peasant sleeves, black gloves with a golden eye emblazoned on the outer wrist, wide-legged blue utility pants that end mid-calf, and slim leather boots. Her hair is layered and a little wild, with two long braids starting just below her shoulders, the shorter layers loose and vaguely resembling a grown-out version of the wing-like spikes seen on the Zeldas from A Link To The Past and A Link Between Worlds.
Inspired by Skyward Sword Zelda's be-ribboned hairstyle, Zelda wears two blue hairclips forming an 'X' design. In terms of jewelry, she wears a leather choker and a pair of dangling orange triangle earrings. She also wears white facepaint in the form of a single stripe with two little branches reaching down under each eye. The braided belt she wears carries a leather pouch, from which dangles three orange tassles.
Personality
Zelda is a kind and passionate girl. She is very idealistic, believing strongly in the legends she was raised on, and harboring what could be seen as a childish faith in superstition and fairy tale. It was an incredible disappointment to her to reach young adulthood without ever seeing a Kokiri or a Minish. Zelda is not, however, naive, though her belief in legend can make her short-sighted.
She has faith in prophecy and providence, that all will work out through the will of the Goddesses, whom she was raised in the faith of. In Zelda's mind, her prophetic dreams and triforce birthmark are proof enough that the Goddesses are watching over her. She is deeply loyal to the role she was raised to play as one chosen by the Goddesses, to point of placing her duty before herself; this is only exacerbated by her being the only remaining member of the royal family, making her feel responsible for the kingdom whole.
History
The Castle Massacre left her mute and shell-shocked for months afterward which were devoted to her recovery in Kakariko, until eventually she could at least communicate with Impaz and commit herself to her new training. Her old daydreams and nightmares did not bother her for another 7 years.Abilities

Trivia
- Zelda's dark hair was inspired by the infamous A Link to the Past commercial1 and by Tumblr user legendofdinner's fanart2 with the same inspiration.
- The markings on her cheeks are Sheikah tradition denoting the role of healer. This tradition has become so obscure over time, though, that Zelda wears it less to signify her trade to others and more for her own sense of purpose.
